I have had friends suffer from anorexia and know that it is a very serious and complex disorder. There are numerous staples you can purchase at your local grocery store that are not only good for you, but good for your wallet too! Contrary to popular belief, eating healthy does not have to break the bank.

College students should look for affordable and healthy staples that are available throughout the year. Inexpensive protein, such as canned beans, canned tuna and eggs, are readily available and help build and repair tissues, as well as form antibodies to fight infection. Frozen vegetables are also a less expensive option that contains many nutrients, including fiber, potassium and vitamins A and C. Whole grains, such as oats and brown rice, can be bought in bulk to keep costs down and provide fiber, iron and other antioxidants.

I will create a post with additional affordable food options for those on a tight budget, so stay tuned! ;)

P.S.
I wish you continued success in fighting anorexia and becoming a happy and healthy young woman and good luck with your college classes!
